Hasidic Jews also were taught that rue should be placed into amulets to protect them from epidemics and plagues
Use: The oil extracted from the leaves having medicinal property.The juice extracted from the plant is used for the treatment of epilepsy , fever, difficulty in inhalation,dysentery, stomach ache.it is believed that on hanging leaves around neck will effective for epilepsy and eye diseases. dried leaf granules are also used along with tender panickle of cardamom,nutmeg and clove for the treatment of indigestion. Poison: Resin from the plant will affect liver,and and capable of DNA mutation.Over dos causes sever vomiting and stomach ache.On the contact with the resin and oil in the body under sunlight causing sun burn .
